So it's the big day, right? Everyone goes out and votes for the lessor of two evils. I didn't vote today nor at anytime in the past 14 yrs I've been of age to do so. Normally I don't vote because there's no one worth voting for. This time I didn't vote because I missed the deadline to register. This is considered a monumental election because you're voting for a mixed male President or a female Vice President. Either way is the country ready? While it's important to vote for the President because he is our figure head. He's the one that presents this country to the world. He's the one that can push the button. My parents have drilled into my head this year that he's not God. So many people think that he is God. Can you imagine if our country's future relied upon just one person? Can you imagine if that one person was G.W. Bush? How about G. Washington? A. Lincoln? Isn't it a grand thing that they can veto? Isn't it a better thing that Congress and the House can veto? All the polls say Obama has it in the bag. Would that be wise? Then again is it wise to have McCain? No matter your opinion, and you are entitled to yours as much as I am entitled to mine, you must rememeber, you are only voting for the pretty face that represents this country. Just because Obama might propose trillions in spending or McCain might propose taxing your health care, do you think it will happen? Do you believe in your common sense that the Senate and House will allow this? While the President is important for outward appearances, the Senators and Representatives are the heart of our government. Thank God our founding fathers had the foresight to develop the system this way. Remember to vote for your Senators and Representatives. Remember to do your research on them. Remember that they hold your life in their hands. Write them, get involved with them, tell them what you want. Make your voice heard to them. And for God's sake don't vote for the moron whose taking thousands or millions in donations, pay offs or other benefits from a company or industry. You want them to look out for you, not for the companies that employ you. Lack of research and lack of common sense has taken away from the government. Research, research, research!
